If you were to talk to anyone who was a teenager in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s to present day, they would recall with great fondness the music that ignited their soul.
History has always documented that we have celebrated life with music. It provided the musical score to the foundations of life. Each and every milestone had a soundtrack that enriched our lives, and collectively scorched our memories of the classic “remember the time” conversations. Those memory makers were the backyard musos, the church youth groups and the aspiring rock heroes whose aspirations was to be ‘the next big thing’.
Pubs and venues were the champions of live music. In Horsham alone, you could see up to 5 different bands at the many establishments around town. And before they achieved international fame, you rocked to ACDC, Sherbet, Goanna and so many more.
‘The Horsham Town Hall now supports the next generation of musicians, performers and creators. Since reopening our doors we have seen a great enthusiasm to support the live music scene to reform its glory days. To ensure that our city is a vibrant hub for all ages, and to inspire the next generation then we invite you to join us to celebrate 60 Years of Wimmera Rock.
